Who Will We Be?

Posted on September 10, 2018October 11, 2021 by granttaylor311
When this day comes each year, I think about the people that ran back inside those buildings. I think about how none of them got out of bed that morning planning to live their last day. I think about how the heroes of that day, each of them with their own lives and families, chose to run back in towards death to help others. I think about some of the things I concern myself with daily – my grocery budget, what’s going on at work, what I’ll eat for dinner. I think about how the person I am is made up of a lifetime of moments where I get to decide who I will be. I think about how the men and women who selflessly gave their lives that day decided who they were. And for many of them, it cost them dearly. Life is made up of so many moments, and most of them seem utterly meaningless weighed against the events of that day. 9/11 makes me think about how grateful I am for all the moments I have had. It makes me think about what I will do with the ones I hope to have yet. There are decisions everywhere around us in these moments.

Who will we be?

(the) Fall holds stories, thoughts and reflections on the season of life I'm in - a fall season that resembles the fall at Eden that separated us from home. This short work includes inner notes on the change I am experiencing in life and about the Great Unchangeable One who is with me.
